Since “In Wirklich” first appeared in record shops in September 2002, Inga Humpe and Tommi Eckart have completed several successful tours – in clubs and at large festivals in numerous countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Japan and Russia to name but a few. They made new friends and found new inspiration along the way and experienced, on several occasions, the great honor of being copied by native artists.

Now, the original is back with a sound which is even more individual and international, whereby – and this is something which in our opinion really testifies to their considerable talent – all of the tracks have one thing in common:

The unmistakable 2raumwohnung design.

This, the third album, is the continuation of the legend which began three years ago with their debut, “Kommt Zusammen”. It shifts between club music, relaxed kraut-rock and downright ballad-esque romances that go right under the skin. The groove is well-rounded, full-sounding, pop but then again uncompromisingly mellow. Maybe it is not just we that will find it has acquired an even greater cinematic quality than last time. Then, almost in passing, 2raumwohnung deliver another promise:

“Happiness spreads in waves in the most wonderful places.”

The track “Spiel Mit” deserves perhaps special attention; the first single to be taken from the album carries, with its white-water boogie, a conviction which runs through the whole album: if you can’t talk about something, play with it. And this is exactly what Humpe and Eckart do. In comparison to the freedom which the music creates for itself and the effect this has on the listener, words are immaterial. That said, the texts are once more clever, courageous and inimitably 2raumwohnung. “This familiar feeling lets us feel god-like.”

What can one say, which has not already been said? Maybe, that the all that lightness masks a perfectionism, the extent of which only really becomes clear at the 10th time of listening? That here a band concept has manifested itself more strongly than before? That one will find tone colours, micro-particles of pure despair and grim derision? Also, however, maybe that, just like both of the last 2raumwohnung albums, “Es Wird Morgen” is the best 2raumwohnung album ever.
