Sein Name ist stets ein Garant für volle Clubs. Und das rund um die Welt. Egal ob im Gatecrasher in Sheffield oder New Yorks ehemaliger Vorzeigedisco Twilo, die Crowd liegt dem am 25. Dezember 1966 im norditalienischen Cavour geborenen Star Wars Fan regelmäßig zu Füßen. Doch nicht nur in der Gunst des Publikums spielt Picotto in der obersten Liga. Auch bei Dance Awards und Ratings in DJ-Magazinen belegt er stets Spitzenplätze.

Seinen Platz hinter den Turntables ist für Picotto längst zur zweiten Heimat geworden. Ende der 80er noch eher den Ghetto-Beats zugetan erreicht er 1988 das Finale der DMC Competition, bevor er zu Beginn der 90er in der Dance-Szene aufgeht. 1995 gründet er mit BXR sein eigenes Label und ist fortan einer der Väter und ständige Bezugsgröße für die italienische Elektronik-Szene.

Kein Wunder, dass er sich mit Italiens zweitem DJ Star Gigi D’Agostino zusammen tut, 1996 “Angel’s Symphony” veröffentlicht und auch sonst die Szene mit seinen Releases prägt, anfangs unter dem Alias R.A.F. Ende der 90er reicht sein Ruf nicht zuletzt aufgrund seines Club-Hits “Gonna Get It” dann auch über die Landesgrenzen von Italien hinaus und er bekommt Remixaufträge von internationalen Topplayern des Popbusiness wie den Pet Shop Boys.

Nach seinem Debut Album “The Album” steht mit “The Others” der Nachfolger in den Plattenläden, der unter anderem mit den Hits “Pulsar” und “Back To Cali” aufwartet.
