Originating from the northern Ontario regions of Canada, Sheldon Thompson pursued music with dedication taking him from a small isolated town where bears out numbered humans to Cologne, Germany where beer pretty well follow similar truths. Nothing in common with music of course but just an observation. After all, beers go down much easier then bears. In his earlier years living in Windsor followed by latter years in Toronto, Sheldon began taking electronic music more seriously as a way of life and means of support with its ever growing popularity within North American and Europe within the mid 90’s. He made a moved away from group collaborations in unsuccessful post-rock bands to a risky solo career in techno. Whose laughing now bitches!.
Seriously now ,he harbors no resentments to his past band mates that said techno will be dead in 2 years but he is proud of his achievements and his hard work to have continued releases on many impressive labels mainly based in gute alt Deutchland.
In early 2007, pan/tone started his own imprint called Cereal/Killers which was a 7 part ltd edition series. This label concept was a perfect means for him to involve his beloved and talented friends (you know who they all are) that all had similar views on music but more importantly, a unique style of sound that does not imitate the rest. Truly a proud accomplishment for all of them to do what they all do best.
Still currently based in Cologne away from the herd in Berlin, pan/tone has finally moved away from having his studio in a flat next to many annoyed neighbours to an empty building somewhere in Deutz. The new music productions is coming in nicely and louder for more future releases. Perhaps even expect an album!.
