Luca Anzilotti and Michael Münzing are the most successful DJ/Producers ever.
They have revolutionized the dance scene with their project SNAP! and have sold millions of units with their numerous Nr. 1 hits all over the universe.
Michael and Luca proved that dance music can have an underground appeal and crossover to pop.
Michael Münzing was one of the first DJ`s in the world to incorporate electronic musical instruments in his DJ sets at the legendary Darian Gray club in the 80`s.
Michael was also known for his elaborate extended edits of songs which he meticulously created by splicing 1/4″ tape.
Punters would come from all over europe to witness his art of mixing where he would at times have 3 Thorens 126 turntables running and syncing a Roland TR808 at the same time.
Michael was not only a DJ but also owned many clubs to date.
His first club was El Cid in Tel Aviv (1977), Eisbär in Frankfurt (1980).
In 1988 he owned together with Sven Väth and Matthias Martinsohn the Omen, which was the starting point of the “Techno/Rave” movement in the 90`s.
In 199X he was also co-owner of Capitol in Frankfurt.
Luca Anzilotti started DJ`ing in London playing an unusual mix of electronic music and soul (Kraftwerk, YMO, Heaven17, etc…) His trademark when beginning and ending a set was to play Jean-Michelle Jarre`s Oxygen at 45RPM. When Luca moved to Frankfurt in 1982, he was immediately inspired by Michael to buy a Korg MS10 and a Roland TR606. At this time there were two another DJ`s who devoted their DJ sets to electronic music. Talla2XLC and Westbam.
Today, Michael and Luca are taking their knowledge gained as producers and their not forgotten skills as DJ`s to once again play in clubs and share their love for electronic music with a crowd. Not only are they able to deliver endurable sets of 8+ hours, and are combining today`s technology with instruments, laptops, CD`s and vinyl records. Rather than mixing songs “as is” they create their own versions of tracks live, and add synths, effects and beats to create an unusual DJ experience.
All tracks were purchased on Beatport and are all fairly recent releases.
Michael`s and Luca`s set up consists mainly of 2x MacBook Pro`running Traktor3 and sometimes Ableton Live, 1x Allen & Heath Xone 4D, 2x Allen & Heath Xone 1D controllers.
Both Macs are synched over an ethernet network.
